Draft Coachella Valley Urban Water Management Plan

California’s Urban Water Management Planning Act (Act) requires urban water suppliers in the state to adopt a Regional Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) every five years. For the 2020 planning cycle, six agencies in the Coachella Valley are collaborating to develop a Regional Coachella Valley UWMP (CV UWMP).

The Draft CV UWMP is now available for public review. Comments can be directed to cvuwmp@dwa.org or to the specific water agency contacts listed below. Public comments will be considered at the upcoming public hearings listed below.

Draft Water Shortage Contingency Plans

Each of the Coachella Valley Urban Water Management Plan participating agencies has developed a draft Water Shortage Contingency Plan (WSCP). These plans outline the actions that could be taken during a future water shortage. The participating agencies worked together to align the shortage levels and the actions that would be taken at each level. This coordinated approach will allow the agencies to provide consistent messaging across the region if a future water shortage does occur.
